The local community is set to launch several new youth programs aimed at skill development and engagement for adolescents aged 12 to 18. These programs will kick off on January 10, 2026, at the Community Center on Main Street. The initiative seeks to provide local youth with opportunities to enhance their skills and participate in constructive activities.
The youth programs will include workshops on leadership, coding, arts, and team sports. Each workshop is designed to foster collaboration and personal growth among participants. Sessions will be held weekly, allowing youth to explore different areas of interest while forming valuable connections with peers.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department and local nonprofit organizations are collaborating to bring these programs to fruition. Their efforts aim to address the growing need for engaging activities that support youth development during critical teen years.
Historically, the region has offered limited programs for youth, leading to calls for more diverse opportunities. These new initiatives are a response to community feedback and aim to enhance the overall well-being of local adolescents.
Interested individuals can register online at the Parks and Recreation Department’s website or visit the Community Center directly. Enrollment begins on December 20, 2025, and is expected to fill quickly.
